I seen old friends today

I attended a funeral today. It was for the father of some old friends.

Looking at the photo above from left to right you will see: Me, Barb, Judy, and Trish. Barb is the younger sister of Wayne, whom Judy and I graduated with. Trish is my cousin, she and Barb are the same age, a year younger then us. Yet, we all grew up in the same church, and were constant friends for many years.

It was Wayne and Barb (and Larry's) father that had passed, how sad that they lost their mom just 18 months ago. Wayne also lost a son within the last two years.

Barb has always been Barb, she made a career out of the military service and now colors her hair pink if she so desires. Judy's husband is a minister and they have their own church here in our home town. Trish is retired and quilts for other people on a long arm quilting machine. I am still working in the aircraft industry.

How far our paths have separated. I don't even know how many children Barb has. I know she has been with her husband for a long time, so that is a good thing. I hope that means she is happy.

That is what we want, we want the kids we grew up with to be happy. Recently I have been in contact with two other friends. One is Terry, we lived in the same mobile home park when we were in elementry school and graduated high school together.

Then out of the blue I got a phone call from Bart, he was in the Air Force with my husband. We lost contact (after his divorce) when we all lived in CA. Bart has remarried and is happy, still in CA.

I am sure some of you think about old friends. I was lucky that I went to one grade school, one junior high and one high school. So I had many friends for a long period of time. This year is my 40th high school reunion. It does not seem possible for that to be true, but it is. When I see my friends, they have gotten older, rounder, greyer and more wrinkled. At least I haven't done that! lol

Do you have old friends that you wonder about? Google them or use the internet to try and search for them. Go to classmates.com and look them up. It might surprise you that they have been looking for you too.
