Lost little parakeets....

Saturday I went out to get the dogs and seen Sparky coming from the corner of the yard with something in his mouth. It was yellow, green and small. I called him but he wouldn't come to me. So I went after him. He lay it down and it was a small parakeet - died. He had bitten it too hard holding it. Poor little guy.

I told Bob when I got home that afternoon and he said he had shooed a blue one out of the garage that had gone in when he opened the garage door. We couldn't find it anywhere. He said its wings were clipped so it couldn't fly away.
Well, I gave up on it thinking a cat had gotten it or whatever - as I couldn't find it yesterday either.

This morning I tried to get the dogs in and they were going nutts by the fence. I went out there and seen a little blue and white bird on the other side of the fence. I had to pick Buster up and took the dogs into the house. If Buster had been big I would not have gotten him in, he was in a tizzy wanting that bird.

I went out the front door and got the little guy. He was not happy, he bit the far out of me. When I got him into my bathroom - (I had went in and put a puddle pad in the tub.) I was bleeding like crazy. He was so scared. He is tough, he rode out the hail and storms last night.

I washed the salt off some sunflower seeds (that is all I had for food) and put some water in there. Since he can't fly he can't get out. He looks a little "worse" for wear - short a few tail feathers etc.

He watched me get ready for work and I talked to him. I will have to try and find out who he belongs too. He has a red band around his leg. He couldn't have came too far away from home. But his "brother" didn't quite make it.

Bob would have left him out there, I have always had a heart for the poor little animals - I can't just leave them for "nature" to take its course. I am not made that way....
