Has Fall finally come? I can't really complain, we only had three days of 100 degree weather this summer. However, I do enjoy the cool weather, and the touch of seasonal change in the air.

This month is birthday month around our house. My girlfriend, Doni had a birthday today (the 10th). Tomorrow the 11th is my nephew, JC's (Jimmie to me) birthday, the 18th is my birthday and then the 22nd is my twins birthday. One could get really fat this month from all the dinners and cakes.

The 21st of August was Brenton's birthday (my grandson) and he enjoyed THREE birthday dinners and two cakes just for himself. Then he had a party with his dad's family. We will not attempt that this month.

On the weekend of the 13th Bob and I are going to Kansas City and look around. We will spend time up by the Speedway. That area has grown into quite the shopping place the last few years. I went to a crop there a few years ago, then went back - just driving through and could not believe all that had been built around there. So that should be fun.

Since I only get two weeks vacation a year and Bob gets six - we try to take weekend trips so that I can extend my time. We enjoy looking around and just being together. It also gives me a stress relief from work.
Which I might add, has gotten better of late.

On the 26th/27th I will be going to Scrap Pink - it is a scrapbook event that gives money to the Breast Cancer Org. It is at Andover - so I am not going far this year. Usually I go to Carthridge Missouri for this event. Work, the price of gas and just wanting to stay home has made me think of going to Scrap*fun*attic for this event. It will be a lot of fun.

School is back in session and Brenton is enjoying his new school. I can't believe he is in the 6th grade and middle school this year. Where has the time gone? He is growing up so much. I hope his time staying with us will make us stay close as he grows up and doesn't want to be around much anymore. I know that time is coming when he will want to be with friends more then us. I will just pray that he makes the right decisions in his life and is happy with what he becomes. (Okay that is going to make me cry so I will stop that now!) ha

Until later -
