Febuary is almost over for 2010. I wish I could say it has been good so far but it hasn't. My sister was in the hospital in ICU and we almost lost her to pneumonia and other illnesses. Yet, by the grace of God she came out of it and was able to return home - although - as she put it, with her little friend (an oxygen bottle). She was starting to do pretty well and sound like herself again. However;
Last night she fell down their basement stairs and again is in ICU - only this time unless God decides differently the outcome won't be as promising. She is paralyized from a broken back.
Her back is broken in two places with the lower break causing the paralysis.
She has 3 broken ribs, 3 breaks on her right arm also. Please pray for her.
I can't wrap my arms around the fact that my big sister may never walk again. She and I both have the same problem, we could tell a lot of stories of our falls. Maybe it is something in our genes - but I have taken a lot of scary tumbles myself. And I am not one that cries much but I have had two good cries today already.
I don't mean for this to be depressing - but it is life. We can't say what tomorrow will bring for any of us. All we can do is prepare our hearts for the life hereafter and make sure that if our time should come we will be ready.
