We had to call hospice out this morning - first time we have had to call them. They called back within 15 minutes and were here within 30 minutes to check him out.
Today dad has shown more "confusion" and he also is experiencing neuropathy in his legs and feet. This is also another "item" we have to deal with. He doesn't like to take his morphine because it makes him itch. I see him slipping away more and more.
I really don't see how he can possibly get any thinner. This morning he wanted coffee, and as it brewed he said how good it smelled. When we gave him some he took only a sip and said it was GOOOOOD. He takes sips of Sunny Delight and Propel water and eats ice chips.
He said today that he doesn't want to keep hanging on - he is ready to go meet Jesus. Please pray that God won't let him hang on.
His cousin is coming in tomorrow and that is a milestone he has set. He wants to see her (Aunt Rosie). He has talked to all of his grandchildren, he has talked to his only remaining sister. I believe he has said goodbye to all those he has been able too.
